Her most recent novel, Nice Girl, was published in 2026 to great acclaim and is a current bestseller in Denmark.

Anne is in her early thirties, with a stable job in marketing and a solid relationship with Carl. She is close to her parents and dreams of starting her own family. When Carl unexpectedly breaks up with her over a glass of mulled wine at a Christmas market, claiming she is “too nice” for him, her very foundation is shaken to the core. Because everybody knows that “nice” is just another word for “boring”, at least when you live in a big city. Luckily, Anne has a tight group of friends from her school days: ambitious, straight-talking Rasmine, sexy vixen Katinka and fragile, spiritual My. They tell her the breakup was bound to happen and encourage Anne to go into counseling to work on her destructive attachment patterns in romantic relationships. Anne’s therapist turns out to be more invested in her group of friends which she believes is full of micro aggressions and internal power struggles, hence why Anne needs to learn to set some boundaries. Perhaps Anne no longer wants to be the “nice girl”? Perhaps she should use her full potential and refuse to be a doormat? But is it possible to break out of a role you’ve always had and is it healthy to dig for traumas you’ve forgotten even existed?
Nice Girl (Sød Tøs) is a romantic comedy gone rogue. The novel investigates what happens when therapy terms creep into our everyday lives and how they can be used as a weapon, but also the social stigma associated with being ordinary and unremarkable.
“A genius novel … To see parts of yourself and women you know being so sharply and mercilessly portrayed as they are in Nice Girl is deeply unsettling. But fortunately it is also a hilariously funny and remarkably successful satire. So read it.” – Jyllands-Posten
“A tense and immensely funny confrontation with the role of the sweetheart, the role of the girlfriend and the role of the friend, which explodes in the most beautiful way in the third act.” – Soundvenue
“A crazy, beautiful work … A surprisingly good reading experience.” – Berlingske
